Green Belts act as project managers in smaller Six Sigma projects or are brought in as partial project leaders. Their knowledge in statistics and methodology enables them to carry out projects successfully. During the project they are supported in terms of methodology by a Master Black Belt or a Black Belt. Green Belts are usually involved about 20% in the projects, meaning they are temporarily exempted from operational tasks. Within the organization, they continue to report to their supervisor and to the Six Sigma champion.
